Anti-Virus client on server not updating

The anti-virus client running on the sophos server is unable to update virus definitions. The error in alc.log:

Time: 2/26/2010 10:40:49
Message: ERROR: Download of SAVXP failed from server D:\Sophos Sweep for NT\ESXP\
Module: CIDUpdate
Process ID: 6076
Thread ID: 2432

I've tried to use direct access to the folder in question and via the unc path, neither having success. Each receiving the same error message. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, when trying to access the setup file to reinstall the client via the UNC path I'm denied access even though I have full control of everything there. I can only run setup from drive letter access.
