Windows Defender Exploit protection in Windows 10

Hello Guys,

I came accross a weird situation here, i was actually trying to check a workstation Performance issue, i found this option which i wasn't aware of :

To my big surprise every feature of this Protection " system" was enabled by default.

My question is : does this has an impact on a machine performance as Sophos has the same "mechanism" running too?
