Virused File not in location displayed.

Hi

I have a machine reporting a virus (Mal/TDSSPack-E and Mal/TDSSPack-G).  It is reporting that 2 files in system32 have the virus.  A scan puts them into quarantine but then you cannot do anything else with them.

Setting the clean up options to "delete" them still just puts them into quarantine.   I have tried to locate the files and delete them manually but the files are not there.  I have allowed view of hidden files.

Your help would be appreaciated.

Regards

Stuart

  • TDSS malware is protected by RootKit techniques that's why you don't 'see' it. You need to scan the machine in offline mode aka with the bootable Sophos CD or any other up to date offline scanning tool (like AVIRA).
