Bad response from existing connection: status code=503

I tried to install the endpoint agent on a laptop this past week and received the following error

2018-10-05T18:56:54.4674948Z ERROR : RetrievePolicyCommand::onRun() failed with std::exception: Bad response from existing connection: status code=503
2018-10-05T18:56:54.4750295Z INFO : Command 'RetrievePolicy' completed with failure with reboot code '0' and error message 'Could not retrieve policy from Sophos Central'

I have attached the install log as well. This is the first time I have run into an installation error with Sophos. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Sean English,

you mention Central that has a dedicated forum. Installation and management in Central is different from on-premise SESC and the Central forum is the better place to post such questions.

Anyway, 503 (service unavailable) is generally a temporary state - as far as I can see preceding and subsequent requests receive 200 so it seems indeed to be a momentary glitch. Did you retry the install?
