  • Hello,

When you are installing SAV for Linux, please select the free version. You should see this option:

Do you wish to install the Free (f) or Supported (s) version of SAV for Linux? [s]

Please select f and you should not needto enter any credentials.

    Thanks

    Mark

  • There is no such prompt. Installed from sav-linux-9-i386.tar.
  • I have the same problem.  I installed the free version, as shown below.  But I still need a username and password to update Sophos AV.

The Free version of Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux comes with no support.

When Sophos Anti-Virus starts, it updates itself to try to find a Sophos kernel interface module update

  • Hello glen chung,

I still need a username and password to update Sophos AV
what makes you think so? Apparently install was successful, and the prompt when you try to update the configuration suggests that a username is configured.
