Change/Update Server Name in Sophos Central for Linux

Is there a way to either provide a name on the command line when doing the install of the Linux agent or change the displayed name on the Sophos Central->Server Protection->Servers page?  The name displayed there appeasr to be getting pulled from some host name related information during the install, but in many cases it is not what we would want to see displayed.  Additionally, it will have conflicts with other environments and we would like to avoid confusion.

  • MCS actively checks the hostname of the computer and reports that back to Sophos Central.  There's no config file to modify to override the name displayed on Sophos Central.  If you change the hostname of the computer, it will reflect in Sophos Central without a re-install.
