External hard drive

Our data control policy works great for USB flash drives.

However,  users can copy data to an external hard drive and bypass our data control policy.

Isn’’’’t a USB external hard drive considered “removable storage”  type?   It should log or block the same way as USB flash drives.

Thanks

  • Hi John,

Yes, we've already contacted Sophos support to no avail.

The plan is to get any drive to log properly, not jsut one specific model.

    Connection is strictly USB

Operating systems are a mix of XP and Win7

Don't really understand the last question, sorry.  (Just desktops)

    Thanks.
