Hello,
I hope i dont miss a thread already discussing this topic.
Starting with Windows 10 1909 we have the ability to use DirectStorage, besides hardware requirements the software also needs to be capable of this.
The storage filter driver of Sophos Endpoint that is currently being used does not seem support this feature yet and therefor DirectStorrage cannot be used.
It would be great to see this feature supported to accelerate high-performance applications.
You can find more about BypassIO here > https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/ifs/bypassio
You can use this command to test the compatibility for a specific drive: fsutil bypassIo state c:\
Currently the output for me using the latest stable version of Core Agent + Intercept X is:
BypassIo on "c:\" is not currently supported
Status: 506 (At least one minifilter does not support bypass IO)
Driver: Sophos Endpoint Defense
Reason: The specified minifilter does not support bypass IO.
Storage Type: NVMe
Storage Driver: Not BypassIo Compatible
