Is it possible to get the old Central Console back? Not impressed with the new one...

So I see they launched a new Central Console.  I am wondering if it is possible to get the old one back.  I used to be able to see all the computers with both Endpoint and Web Gateway information on one page.  Now it is in two completely different locations making it really hard to tell if a computer status is healthy.  Not impressed Sophos and a little warning would have been nice.

  • Update - it appears that there are three sections to view computer status now:

'Devices' - this is the interface I was looking for (was formerly called Computers) and lists the full computer status

'Endpoint Protection' - 'Computers' - this only lists Endpoint Protection information

'Web Gateway' - 'Computers' - this only lists Web Gateway information

I don't really mind the changes (when they are expected and release/update notes precede/accompany them), but I just wish they would worry less about how the Console looks and more about how it performs.  The slow performance (https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/126291) and browser cache (https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/126291) bugs are extremely difficult to work with.

  • You've got it easy.

Imagine for a second that you have a policy per department. Before the change I had one click to get into a department policy, make all my changes click save and I'm done. Now I have a click per department PER Sophos technology group, of which there are 6!

If I need to create a new policy for a specific set of circumstances, I have to create one for each Sophos Technology Group, which could be 6 policies that I need to create!

I don't mind change, but this isn't a change for the better. If different people want different views, enable that as a feature.

  • I agree with Chris.

The Cloud console was much easier to maintain policies, settings were all in one location (Update Manager, Threat Protection, App Control, etc.)

Migrating from on site End Point Console to Cloud has become much more convoluted since the new interface.
