Not All Users Visible in Sophos Central

We have local domain computers which all appear to be visible in Sophos Central, but we have 100+ off-site computers with Sophos installed as well.  The problem I am seeing is that from the Sophos Central Dashboard, when I go to "Usage Summary > Endpoint Computer Activity Status > See Report," not all of these off-site computers are visible.  As I stated, there are over 100 off-site, non-domain computers running the same install of Sophos as our local, domain computers.  Of these off-site computers, only four or five show in this report.  There should be about 180, or so computers showing in this report.  Currently, we only see 62.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Any ideas?

  • They all should be visible.

How were they installed? Were the end users sent an email to install themselves or were they installed by IT and sent out. Just checking the the software is installed.

I would probably start by checking the log file: "C:\ProgramData\Sophos\Management Communications System\Endpoint\Logs\McsClient.log" on one of the computers you expect to see as this is the component that will report in.

Beyond that, the install log (Sophos Endpoint Bootstrap_datetimestamp.txt) is under the installing users temp, i.e. %temp%.  That might offer some clues.

From a UI troubleshooting perspective, assuming it's installed, this utility might help summarize the state of the computer:
    "C:\Program Files\Sophos\Endpoint Self Help\SophosDiag.exe"

  • All installs were performed by IT, then the computers were deployed.  Again, thanks for the info.
