New endpoint install: Sophos Endpoint Security and Control installer

Discovered that a new Endpoint has been release. How did I discover this...The last one told me the that Package was out of date.

So I though, hey! Great! until I had to install it.

The install of the new package for Windows went fine till the end. See pic below

Results

The computer registered with Sophos Central, but that's it. Summary Tab, Events and Policies Tab exist but No Status tab.

On the workstations, no sophos is located in the program directory, unfinished install location on C:\Program Files (x86)\Sophos. Only the AutoUpdate and Management Communications System folder exist. Unable to get log files as that function did not install.

All attempts resulted the same results (see pic and results above).

Installed on multiple Windows 10 pro (build 10.0 (14393)machine, user has local admin rights

For every attempt I uninstalled sophos, restarted and deleted computer from Sophos Central before before starting a new install

1. Installed exe via Send Installers to Users

2. Install as local adminiistrator

3. installed as domain admin

4. installed with different data cable and port

5. installed with internal wifi

6. installed with external internet connection

7. installed on windows 7 pro 6.1 (7601) SP1 machine

Had no issues Installing Sophos on 3 workstations 2 days ago.

Issue follows installer. This needs to be fixed

  • I'm guessing that the client is yet to get an updating policy in order to pull down the other components.  Evidence would be a username/password in the iconn.cfg file under programdata\sophos\autoupdate\config.

What is in the MCSClient log file?  Presumably you see it register and get an identity.  Anything after that?
