Error 145.

Hi to all!

The KB about Sophos error codes doesn't contain about Error 145. So, I'm going to ask you guys on how will I solve this one.

First, I got an error after I installed the Sophos Endpoint Security and Control Installer. The error code is 145. And I can't find the MSI text file also. Then, I tried to uninstall the old Sophos. And I got again another error. Can't uninstall. I don't know why because there's no pop-up message. I thought it was corrupted. So, I tried to reinstall the Sophos standalone installer. Then I got an error again, "0x80041f08."

I really don't understand why is this happening. Cause the other computers are working.

Please advice me on what will I do next.

Thank you.

  • Hi Clint,

I have seen this issue before and is usually down to the following:

1 Check that the account the user is logged on to the computer as, is a member of the Sophos Administrators Group.

2 Click Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Local Users and groups > Groups. Double Click on the SophosAdministartor Group and check to see if you are a member (User you are installing the software as), if not click on the ADD button, type in your account name, click on "Check Names" a line will appear under the account name, then click ok.

3 The account should now be added to the SophosAdministator Group.

4 Log off the computer and log back on.

5 Run the installer and this should now install for you.

Let me know how you get on [Y]

    Cheers
