Sophos Cloud Update Failure

The company I work for has recently purchased Sophos Cloud Endpoint protection after using the trial version of the software for a month.

Before this we used Sophos Endpoint protection successfully for many years and we were very happy with the service it provided.

Since we purchased the licence for the cloud endpoint and installed it on a couple of our machines to check it works we are getting an error message when trying to update.

When we click update, a pop up box appears saying  "connecting to servers" and then a couple of seconds later it says "could not contact server".

we do not believe this is an issue with our systems as the trial version we had of the software worked perfectly fine and also the older endpoint solution has worked perfectly well for many years.

If any one can provide any help with solving this or point me in the right direction of some one to speak to about this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

  • We had this issue just last week. Standalone version worked perfect with updates, cloud did not.

    Turned out in our case it was the RDNS lookup for our content filter from our front end firewall. After disabling that component, it worked perfect.
