Bluetooth headphones are not working Even it is allowed in the policy

Hi,

Our client has some issues, related to central endpoint protection

1. Bluetooth headphones are not working Even it is allowed in peripheral control policy. We have checked a JBL Bluetooth headphone, even the user has full access in peripheral control policy, some time mic and some speaker doesn't work.

2. Can we get a "user login & logout on a device" report from central.

3.  Ater changing the device name on the device, it is showing as two devices entries in the device list.

Please help us to resolve this issues

  • Hi Hemanth,

Thanks for reaching out to the Sophos Community Forum.

I've provided some answers and suggestions below.

    1. I'd suggest disabling the Sophos components on the affected device to see if peripheral control is causing issues with this. You can do this using the local policy override. This is further described in the following article. You can also choose to uninstall Sophos from the affected device instead to determine if the behaviour returns to normal.
    - Sophos Central Endpoint: Basic troubleshooting

    2. I was able to locate the following live discover query, which will allow you to gather this information from the Windows Event viewer on any concerned devices. Sophos Central will only record a log for "New users added automatically" when a new user logs onto a system.
    - Authentication History for a User

    3. You can delete the entry which has an older "Last Checked In" timestamp. If the "Unique ID" (C:\ProgramData\Sophos\Management Communications System\Endpoint\Persist\EndpointIdentity.txt) on a device has remained the same, you will instead see the hostname update on the existing device in your Sophos Central environment.

The Unique Id will also be present in the URL of the web browser when you are viewing the concerned device in Sophos Central.
