Website Management / Categories (can we categories at source rather than "override the Sophos category"

Morning,

We "warn" on for "uncategorized"

Were having to go into Website Management and put a re categorize line in for each one.

Where does sophos learn from, is there a central site like mcafee's solution of > https://sitelookup.mcafee.com/ or https://www.barracudacentral.org/report/website-category where it can be submitted an everyone learns.

Im one of my cistomer "sophos centrals" I see some sites like "bing" come up as uncatagorised

Then how can i exclude LAN IP's from "uncategorized" also?

SECOND part >

how come in "Server Protection - View Server Policy" the web filtering is much reduced. I am unable to celect uncatagorized?

  • Hi Simon,

Thanks for reaching out to the Sophos Community Forum.

When checking using Sophos Intelix, "Bing.com" returns the category "Search Engines". The same is true when using our internal tools. Do you know what specific web browsing activity was taking place when Bing was identified as Uncategorized? Could there have been content injected into the webpage such as banner ads which could be sourced from Bing advertising?

The Server Protection policy is limited due to Web Control Policies being user-based. Servers do not have users associated with them and generally are not intended to be used for web-browsing purposes.
