Sophos - Encryption

If a Laptop is encrypted through Sophos, and the laptop is then reset and wiped, is the har drive safe to dispose of?

    I'm not 100 percent sure that the hard drive is safe to dispose of as there are currently multiple techniques for restoring them. 

    From my personal experience, the best way to dispose of such drive is to use a Degausser, and if you don't have a degaussing machine, You can burn the hard drive to a crisp in that way you'll be able to destroy the disk which holds the data and it would be impossible to recover.
