Sophos Endpoint License Approval

Hi guys,

a little question... In my company we use Intercept X and my colleagues and I, we install the endpoint on the computers that needs to have it.

My concerns are about our remote branches where the installation file is owned by everyone, so I see in my console computers that shouldn't be registered.

There's a way to "APPROVE" the installation from the Sophos Central?
Or can I cut off the corporate license from users that shouldn't have the endpoint or didn't work for my company?

Hope to be clear.

Alessandro

  • Hello Alessandro,

Thank you for reaching us. With regards to this query, we don't have a feature that you've mentioned to control the installation of the endpoint on our Sophos central. You may need to raise this to our Sophos idea portal in order for our developer to consider adding this feature. For the existing devices that use your license count which is not part of your organization. A manual clean-up is required by sorting all unwanted registered devices on your central and force them to uninstall the endpoint by Activating admin Isolation on each system. That's the possible way to deal with the current scenario as the installation file has been handed to your end-users.

  • Hello Glenn,
thanks! I followed you suggestion and I "opened" a New Idea.

Hoping that someone looks into it... In the meanwhile I must admit that is a little annoying that I can't manage the licenses.

  • I do understand. We'll see if our development team will consider adding this feature in the future. Also, right now, the best course of action is to stop sharing the package to end users to avoid misuse of your endpoint license. Slight smile
