installation of sophos av on Ubuntu 20.04LTS freezes

For 1 or 2 weeks now, I am no longer able to install Sophos AV on Ubuntu 20.04.LTS,

every time I try, the complete computer freezes.

I have installed hundreds of notebooks and desktops before without any problems,

on 20.04 and also 18.04.

Just did a test with the newest Linux Mint, there it works without any problems.

Any ideas what could have changed that it is no longer working ?

    We had this with the same versions you are testing with. It was about 3 or 4 weeks ago.

    After we downloaded a new installer from Central, it was working again, so I think it was buggy at that time. Issue was with some TLS settings in the Installer or the preconfigured Sophos DL servers it was using.

    On our XG we could see this:

    Thanks for the answer.

    I just downloaded the newest installer sav-linux-9-i386.tgz and tried to install.

    This time the installation and also the update finishes, but a few seconds after the update,

    the computer freezes again. I tried the recommended and the preview policy.

    Update:

    I just tried the installation and Update with Ubuntu 18.04.5LTS, works perfectly.

    Then tried the new 20.04.3LTS, freezes after the Update. Sob

    I think you will only get this solved with support. Seems clear enough that there is something with the OS version.

    Im excited about your support experience on the Linux versions.

    Just one other thought - it's not only a missing Webproxy Cert on the new OS that is causing issues while downloading AV updates through XG proxy?
