Webcontrol

We have a problem with Webcontrol or a problem of understanding

For example, if I want to block the domain Ebay, unfortunately I cannot specify the domain.
I have to enter ebay.de ebay.com etc. which is very tedious and very inaccurate.
Do you have any idea how I can make a single entry to block the entire domain?
Quick note we do not use Sophos Firewall

  • Hi there,

Thank you for reaching us, Aside from blocking the said link via manually adding the link through website management. You can block this link via category base. eBay domain belongs to the shopping category so if you block the shopping category on your web control policy you’ll block the whole domain of eBay though it’ll also block other shopping sites on your network.  If you wish to proceed on blocking the eBay sited via category then you can block them. If not, then a manual adding of eBay domain sites through website management is the only option.

  • Hi,
    Thanks for the information.
I don't want to lock the whole shopping category.
The goal is to block only ebay with all subdomains.
ebay.* or ebay./ and that doesn't work unfortunately.

  • If that is the case, the only option here is to add individually the list of eBay domains on your blocklist through website management. You can refer to this link for the list of eBay Domains. For adding website management tag, you may refer to this documentation.
