Intercept X Advanced with Windows Defender

I've searched for a while and have found conflicting answers.  We are getting ready to deploy Intercept X Advanced company wide, just installed on my PC at this point.  Is it best to uninstall Windows Defender or to leave it alone and rely on it detecting Sophos and disabling its own scans?  What has everyone else done?

  • When Sophos registers with the Security Center, Defender should disable itself, at least from a real-time scanning perspective.

Under \windows\temp\ there is a log file which details defender enabling/disabling itself.

For example, in the log you will see wdfilter the Windows Defender file system filter driver being unloaded and set to manual start for example.
