License Expired pop up on restart

The majority of time when the user restarts their computer they're hit with a Sophos pop up stating their license is expired.  A few moments later when the various programs (including Sophos) finish loading, you can then verify that everything is actually fine.  I'm assuming there is some sort of check on startup to see if it's running or something and if it'd wait 30 seconds it'd see that everything was fine.  Anyone else experiencing this?  Any thoughts on how to stop this behavior?

  • Hi ,

To validate this can you confirm if your subscription was still active? Can you DM me your license subscription for me to check it through our system?

you need to look at your update sources in the config and see if it is pointing at an Update Cache. I would say this is from an Update Cache that is broken and doesn't have the proper data in it. When that fails, the endpoint will fall back to direct updates from Sophos and that is why you see the error only at startup and then 30 seconds later the issue resolves. Based on the screen - this look like SEC onprem - is that correct?
