Windows Server Defender - problem with Sophos Endpoint Protection

Dear Community,

is there any best practice or advice that i need to deactivate Windows Server Defender in combination with Sophos Endpoint Protection.

The only advice i can find was from Microsoft, it says i should disable the Server Defender for compatibility and performance reasons.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/security/defender-endpoint/microsoft-defender-antivirus-compatibility?view=o365-worldwide

Any other sugestions? I probably think many other ppl wont to this.

Thanks in advance

Stephan Bückert

  • Hi Stephan,

Thank you for reaching us. Our suggestion for this current scenario is to totally remove windows Defender on your System and It may cause a conflict on our Sophos endpoint which will lead to some components not running properly. You may refer as well to this KB article related to installing Sophos product along with other competitor software.
