Migrate CIX and SGN installed workstation to new domain

Hi,

Our organization using both Sophos Central managed endpoints and Safeguard Encryption for up to 500 workstations.

We have a request from management to migrate from the old domain to the new domain. Can I get any advice on the best method to perform this migration?

1) SGN management server I guess we need to reinstall? or just change organization?

2) Do the encrypted workstation need to be decrypted before joining the new domain and encrypt again?

3) How about the endpoint? do we have to reinstall? I guess central will automatically detect the User Account right?

Thanks.

  • Yes you may do that. Slight smile

For SGN, I have consulted this to our Internal team and with regards to the said activity, I would suggest you reach your PM as Professional services interaction is highly needed to achieve this. Also, I'll be taking my chance to introduce to you the Central device encryption which is the cloud base encryption that we have Since SGN will be reaching its end of life within 2 years. Therefore I`d also suggest migrating the clients to central device encryption (for Bitlocker management). that`s really easy, the devices don´t need to be re-encrypted and they also have central management.
