SafeGuard disable access if not synchronised

Hi All,

I am new to Sophos products and have been using McAfee Safeboot product for a number of years. In Safeboot there was a ability to lock access to a device if it had not synchronised with the server for a specified period. This is very useful when keeping track of your mobile devices such as laptops etc and prevents "accidental" theft by staff. Ok there was an increase in admin overhead when unlocking locked out devices. But it was worth it.

I cannot seem to find a similar setting in SafeGuard and was wonderig if it exists or is on the roadmap for this product?

Thanks

Ant1

  • Hi Ant1,

you can configure a "Machine settings" policy and enable the following policy setting "Power on Authentication | Access denied if no connection to server (days)" to fullfill your requirement.  This would lock down the machine after x-days w/o contact to the SafeGuard Enterprise Server.

The feature is disabled per default.

    Hope that helps,

    Chris
