We appear to be having issues with communication when migrating our Safeguard Management Centre console form one server to another. We are migrating because we are looking to decommission our current server. We have fresh install on our new server, copied over the databases and licence. Sign in on the management centre is fine as user and mso. WE have created configuration package and installed on one workstation but we cannot communicate with the new server. Error Sophos cannot connect to Sophos Safeguard Server.
I dont know if we have missed a step in the migration, any hints, tips, or ideas on where i may have went wrong is much appreciated.
Release 8.2. Upgraded existing server prior to migration. SQL hosted on same box for both old and new machines.
Are you using an SQL host, or is it all in the same box?
SQL installed on new machine, and was on old machine as well. Took backups of the tables and restored on the new box.
Are the local FW ports open on the server? Is this a brand new client and has the configuration been applied and checked? It IS looking at the new server and the certs are installed (if locally minted)
Firewall exceptions were added, it is a new client configuration. We have created the configuration package and applied to one workstation for testing before progressing. As far as we can the certs are installed. Is there a process for checking the certificates?
Did you create and install a new server configuration package?
The server itself needs that to be able to route traffic from the endpoints into the database.
