Transparent Proxy Exception by MAC Address?

I recently took over a mess of a network, with an Astaro 220 gateway, and I am trying to setup get good security policies and infrastructure, etc..

Anyway, I am wondering if there is a way to setup the transparent proxy to exclude certain mac addresses, this way, I can make sure the head honchos can have uninterupted access while I work out a proper infrastructure and policy based on IP addresses, etc...

Right now the only think I can think of is to set up a static DHCP IP address for each mac address, and then add those IPs to a network group and set that group as excluded from the proxy.

Is there a simpler way?

    I too would like to add an exclusion for a single MAC address.  

    I am using a tranparent proxy, with a simple "any-any-any" rule for the entire subnet.  I thought of the same solution as ethanpil, but also wondered if there was another way to accomplish it.

    There should be!! MAC filtering is one of the basic features of all wireless routers these days! 

    I ended up doing what I said above, its working fine for now, but will be a pain when we start swapping computers....

    The proper way to do it is to have an auto-proxy redirect setup to redirect all browsers to the http proxy (default on 8080) and use a single-sing-on (SSO) authentication to control access. You would then have it fall-back to the transparent with the most secure policy.
