I am not sure why you would do that, rather than add the IP address straight into the forwarders under DNS settings.
From what I see that you are trying to do is use a DNS entry to lookup a DNS.

Maybe one in a thousand sites will need to bind a definition to an interface.  The 99.9% of the time it's not necessary, it's likely to cause mysterious problems.

I would say that you should never choose Internal, External, DMZ, etc.; always choose > unless told to change it by an Astaro Support engineer.

For Host Network Definitions the are related to Internal IP addresses I always set Internal, not "any". Am I using wrong configuration?

This will be the first thing I'll do tomorrow, switch all to [SIZE="7"]"ANY"[/SIZE]! [:D]

The "ANY" setting is discussed here at https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/astaroorg/f/55/t/44786 in a little more detail and has a link to vote for a feature request at the bottom of the page if you want to be reminded not to use other settings besides "ANY".

Only concern that I have with "ANY" setting is the IP spoofing vulnerability if astaro doesn't know which interface to expect a certain packet from. For example my LAN packets should never be coming in from the internet but with "ANY" interface, how does astaro know the difference between LAN and the internet specially if I don't have private IP ranges for LAN.

On a side note, I changed my settings to "ANY" the other day and the browsing seems a little snappier with proxy/content filter enabled.
