Hi,
I've just tried installing the XG onto a Dell 990 OptiPlex PC - the install hangs but says that it's 100% complete - doesn't reboot just sits there with no information on screen.
So I thought that I would try to boot the system - but when it started booting all I got was two letters "CY" on screen and nothing else.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Tim
Hi Abbas,
Thanks for choosing Sophos.
I suggest you to try re-installing XG, referring the link :

HI
I have exactly the same issue the boot stops at firmware loader and I need to select option 1 , 15_01_0407 to continue. Sometimes I need several tries before it even finds the firmware I have selected.
My Hardware is an Intel D2500CC motherboard (atom dual core) with 4GB ram & a Samung 850evo SSD.
I have reloaded following the instructions several times even erasing the SSD between tires.
I also tired the the old Sophos UTM software which actually boots just fine, however It's not suitable as I have too many devices ( my home virtaul machine learning setup)
I'm pretty much about to give up on this software. Very frustating as it looks well worth trying.
Any ideas?
HI
I'm using DVI for the moment. I plan is not to use a monitor once Im sure its stable.
Hi Michael,
Hmm, because you're using DVI, it's a long shot but you could be be falling foul of the HDCP install issue where the installation cannot complete because it does not have the appropriate drivers to understand the interface. If it's DVI-I, try installing using a DVI to VGA or if it has a VGA connector on the unit, use that instead.
Not sure if this will apply to you, but it could be the culprit.
Emile
Thanks Emile
the DVI wasn't the problem but it got me on the right track.
I started disabling unused hardware ports on the motherboard one by one.
Disabling the serial port finally had the system booting.
Michael
Woohoo! Glad to have helped you diagnose your problem :)
Have fun with the XG!
