How to configure dual wan as link aggregation ?

Hi from Brazil !

I have two internet links come from my port 4 in separate vlans (VLAN 70 and VLAN 75)

port4.70 (vlan 70) as WAN - 100MB

port4.75 (vlan 75) as WAN - 100MB

I can use the two links separately, or set up a load balance, but when I test the link speed on the speedtest, for example, I see the obvious, with each link I get 100 MB.

How do I set up a link aggregation (or other method) so that in the speed test I can reach my 200 MB?

  • Pascoal,

you cannot do it. Because the 2 internet links are separated, Firewall will balance the connection to both. For example, if 2 computers goes to internet one will use IPS1 and one will use ISP2.

    • this makes me sad, it would be wonderful to see these two links together reach 200MB.

      • Hi,

a thought you might try. Put a managed switch between the XG and the WAN devices and create a LAG that presents itself as a 200mb/s link to the XG.

There are downsides to this in no link monitoring or notifications, not able to see which link has failed from the XG.

    • If the ISPs the same and it uses ppoe should it not be able to aggregate to 200? My old cyberoam utm used to it but stopped the moment I upgraded to Sophos OS on cyberoam hardware.
