Hi,
in our company, we want to introduce MFA authentication when using VPN.
I have read that there are several MFA apps supported by Sophos. Unfortunately none of them provide an apk file to install the app.
Is there any possibility to install one of these MFA apps without having to create a google account and download the app from the playstore?
I actually do not want to create a new account for every single employee just in order for them to download this app.
How do other companies deal with this issue? Is there an easier way?
Hi mbr_cfk ,
Thank you for reaching out to the community, you can download Sophos Intercept X for mobile, that has in-built authenticator which will let you use without creating a google account - Sophos Intercept X for Mobile – Apps on Google Play
Thanks & Regards,

Hi Vivek Jagad ,
thank you for your answer.
In order to download the Sophos Intercept X for Mobile App, I need to have a google account. Otherwise I can't download any app from the Google Playstore.
So, unfotunately, this is not a solution for my issue.
Hi mbr_cfk,
Thank you for reaching out to Sophos Community.
Have you tried to login the same account for multiple device and then download the app?

Hi Erick Jan ,
thank you for your reply.
Using one account for all Smartphones might work. But imo it is not a clean solution - more like a workaround.
If I understand correctly, your instruction on using Google Authenticator without a Google Account presupposes, that the Google Authenticator is already installed on the smartphone. In my case, there is no authenticator pre-installed. Therefore I will somehow need to install an authenticator.
how do you want to use an Android smartphone without a google account?
that's not even possible with MDM.
The intercept X app is OK to be used only as authenticator app and has an export option - nice for a later device replacement - something other apps often don't have.
Maybe you can try this one:
