MFA App Download without Google Account

Question

Hi,
in our company, we want to introduce MFA authentication when using VPN.

I have read that there are several MFA apps supported by Sophos. Unfortunately none of them provide an apk file to install the app.
Is there any possibility to install one of these MFA apps without having to create a google account and download the app from the playstore?
I actually do not want to create a new account for every single employee just in order for them to download this app.

How do other companies deal with this issue? Is there an easier way?

You could create one generic google account to download app on every phone.
But best practise would be using MDM for your phones. So those can be tracked, onboarded, configured centrally and apps can be rolled out as well without need to do this locally on every device.

then you'd neet to trust an MFA app that is available as apk, export a valid apk from a trusted phone or use an offline hardware authenticator
