Dear comminity,
is there any chance to configure interfaces via console?
I've done an Sophos Migration Assistant restore on a new XG430 release SFOS 18.0.4 MR-4 and when the XG430 booted it configure the interface as PortA1, PortA2, PortA3, ecc. but in the new hardware i don't have the interface expantion module A.
I've now only access by cli to XG430 and i see the interface Port1, Port2, Port3 ecc by the command:
console> show network interfaces
Port1 Zonetype:UNBOUND MAC Address:C8:4F:86:09:35:AC MTU:1500
Speed:65535Mb/s Full Duplex Auto Negotiation:yes
BROADCAST MULTICAST
RX State: packets:0 bytes:0 (0.0 B)
errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX State: packets:0 bytes:0 (0.0 B)
errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
Port10 Zonetype:UNBOUND MAC Address:C8:4F:86:09:35:B5 MTU:1500
Speed:65535Mb/s Full Duplex
BROADCAST MULTICAST
RX State: packets:0 bytes:0 (0.0 B)
errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX State: packets:0 bytes:0 (0.0 B)
errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
Port2 Zonetype:UNBOUND MAC Address:C8:4F:86:09:35:AD MTU:1500
Speed:65535Mb/s Full Duplex Auto Negotiation:yes
BROADCAST MULTICAST
RX State: packets:0 bytes:0 (0.0 B)
errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX State: packets:0 bytes:0 (0.0 B)
errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
But If I try to configure the ports by the interaction menu:
1. Network Configuration
1. Interface Configuration
I see only the interface named PortA1, PortA2, PortA3, ecc..
Network configuration Menu
1. Interface Configuration
2. DNS Configuration
0. Exit
Select Menu Number [0-2]: 1
Sophos Firmware Version SFOS 18.0.4 MR-4
Network Settings
Interface Name : PortA1 (Physical)
Zone Name : WAN
Then I can't connect on it by web gui.
Thank you
Hello Ste,
Thank you for contacting the Sophos Community.
If you press 1. Interface Configuration >> and press Enter again, you don't see the next Port, does it give you the option to edit the inferce?
It seems all of your interfaces aren’t bound, which might be the reason.
Regards,
No I dont.
I've solved configuring the interface via ifconfig in the advanced shell:
ifconfig Port1 172.16.16.16 netmask 255.255.255.0 up
