Sophos Authenticator app migration

Is there a way to migrate MFA/OTP entries from the legacy Sophos Authenticator 1.4.2 to Sophos Intercept X Authenticator either with both apps on the same iPhone or between iPhones?  It's been asked in the past ( Sophos Authenticator App - move to new phone) and I wanted to check if anything has changed.

Additionally, Apple Quick Start (https://support.apple.com/en-us/102659) somehow misses a portion of the existing entries in Sophos Authenticator when attempting data transfer between an IOS 15.x iPhone to one on 18.x - is this a known problem?

  • Hi onward,

    Thanks for reaching out.

The Sophos Authenticator app has been EOL for quite some time now since July 31, 2022. Unfortunately I'm not able to test the migration process, but hopefully others on the forum may be able to help.

I do know that the Sophos Intercept X Mobile app's authenticator functionality will allow you to export and import saved authentication details as needed.

    Hopefully this helps.

    • The problem is that there doesn't seem to be an export option in the original Sophos Authenticator app and a migration path hasn't been made known.  Even when both Sophos apps are installed on the same device, there is no awareness that MFA entries exist in the original app for import into the new version.  Is recreating every entry individually the only option?
