With the release of iOS 12.2 Apple has changed the way to install a configuration profile as required by EMM products like Sophos Mobile to manage the device.
To be able to manage an iOS 12.2 device, the procedure has to follow looks now as follows:
- Scan the Sophos Mobile QR code using the Sophos Mobile Control app
- The device shows This website is trying to download a configuration profile. Do you want to allow this?
- After pressing Allow, the configuration profile is downloaded.
- NEW: The profile is saved and the user will not be prompted to install it directly. The user has to go to the Settings app to install it.
The device shows the following message:
Profile downloaded - Review the profile in Settings app if you want to install it - NEW: Open the Settings app
- NEW: Go to Profile Downloaded
- NEW: Tap on Sophos Mobile and press Install
- Optional: If a passcode is enabled on the device enter it accordingly.
- Tap Install
- Click Trust
After following this procedure, the profile is successfully installed and the device can be managed by Sophos Mobile. Please refer the below KBA.
