Sophos Mobile Device 5 - Changing user on phone

Hi,

I cant seem to find a way to change the user of a phone.

Once it has been setup and a local user has been assigned to a device, the option appears to be "greyed out"

So when a phone is assigned to someone else, we cant change the owner. Email address, phone number etc can be changed but not user, also if no user is assigned at the time of device creation, we cant set one up later, the option is "greyed out".

  • Hi Grant2015,

    to assign a different user to a device, you first have to remove the existing user assignment from the device.

    To do so, follow these steps:

    1. Edit the device in questions

    2. From the "Actions" section, select "Unassign user from device"

    3. Save the change

    4. Edit the device again

    5. From the "Actions" section, select "Assign user to device" and search for the new user

    6. Save the changes.

    Now the device is assigned to a new user and the information should be updated accordingly.
