Problems deploying apk to samsung device

Hi.

I'm evaluating Mobile Control (on premise) and having problems when trying to install a local apk package to a Samsung Galaxy Ace Style device. I'm also testing with a Samsung Galaxy Tab3 device and it works fine there.

I've checket that Unknown sources are allowed, verifacation is turned off and that Google remote admin is disabled.

I get the "Internal error.    -27    Completely failed" response in the tast detail view.

Does anyone have any idea what may be wrong?

Also if anyone have a how to on enrolling 50+ android devices I'd be very happy.

Best regards,

Daniel

  • Hi Daniel,

if it works for one device I see no reason why it shouldn't work for another device to be honest.

Is the app perhaps already installed on the Galaxy Ace? Are there any additional details available in the SMC console within the task?

    Best regards

  • Hi Stefan.

    Thanks for your reply.

I agree, there shouldn't be any difference. But there is...everything else works fine on that phone. Profile is accepted installation of apps from google play or web links work fine. It's just installation of local apk package that fails. Is there a better log that can be used to actually see what goes wrong?

What's even more strange is that I've managed to install the app once or twice alright but then is doesn't work. If the app is installed via weblink it works, and then a rollout from SMC works as well.

    Best regards,

    Daniel

  • Hi Daniel,

    that sounds really strange.

You can reproduce the issue and then have a look into the server.log within the logs folder. Depending on the SMC version you are using it can be found in a different location.
    SMC 4: %MDM_HOME%\jboss\server\mdm\log
    SMC 5: %MDM_HOME%\wildfly\standalone\log

If the task / SMC client is actually doing something wrong, there is also a client log. How to get this is explained in this article.

    Best regards
