Computers fail to update.

Hello,

At 2:22 pm yesterday all of my pc displayed as "out of date" for their protection.  I updated the software as well as the CID and now half of them say "out of date" as of 2:22 pm and the other half say "out of date" as of unknown.  Anything I can do to fix this?

  • I have had luck with closing the console and reopening after 5 minutes.  Check your services are all up for Sophos on your console and server and also that you can see the SQL DB without issue.  I use a .udl file from Win Server 2008 to do a simple authentication test.

    The other "trick" I use is to duplicate an update policy, create a similar name, change all my clients to it, see if they reconnect and then switch back to the previous.  Kind of weird but it work(s)ed. 

    I have sen this same issue twince now in 1 mont, my first month  on 4.0.

  • I had a weird problem as well.  Apparently my Updater had the software download account, not the "em" account.  With no warning, the server stopped updating.  The fix was to enter the em number.
