Transparent mode vs Standard (proxy) mode

Hi Guys,

We are currently using standard web filtering with proxy settings for our Citrix user environment. No authentication is needed.

Will we gain benefits when we switch to transparent mode?
with benefits i mean:
- better speed
- same or more logging?
- better user experience

Anyone has experience to share?

If you are using Citrix where all operations to the UTM will appear like they are coming from the same IP, transparent mode will have a lot of problems. You will basically lose the ability to do authentication, which means all users must have the same policy.

Overall the user experience with Standard Mode is better than with Transparent Mode, because in Standard Mode the clients know there is a proxy and can handle it better.

The only benefit to Transparent Mode is that there is slightly better ability to completely exclude things (problematic sites) from the proxy.
