Can ping one but not other computer in LAN via VPN

Hi all,
need your help: I successfully establish VPN connection from client with Virtual IP 192.168.100.2 to local subnet 192.168.1.0/24.
From client, I try to ping 192.168.1.2 - works.
From client, I try to ping 192.168.1.6 - does not work.
Traceroute shows same behaviour.
I can ping and traceroute both computers with the tools on the ASL (menu Network - Tools).
The client can ping both computers when connected directly in the LAN.

The problem is: Why can the client ping 192.168.1.6 when and only when connected through a VPN?

Normally you can ping the clients in your network, when you are connected with a vpn. Is there a router between the client, which you cannot ping? Maybe a routing problem. Please have a look in your kernel logfile for dropped packets.

  Thanks for the quick reply. The computers 192.168.1.2 (pingable) and 192.168.1.6 (not pingable) are sitting side by side in the same room and the same subnet. No router anywhere - routing for local subnet is done by ASL which pings both.

    On the one that's not pingable: is its gateway set to Astaro?

    Thanks you SecApp! Thats the solution! Client had changed gateways on all computers but 192.168.1.6 to ASL and switched off routing on old router. Changing gateway on the .6 as well solved the problem.
