I'm gonna assume you're using Astaro 3.2 here. Since there's no manual yet and I have only a passing familiarity with the SMTP proxy in Astaro, DO NOT take any of this as gospel, it's just my understanding of it. I hope it's helpful. In WebAdmin goto the 'Proxies' link and the select 'SMTP Relay'. In 'Global Settings' You'll see a red icon and a button labeled 'Enable'. Hit 'Enable' and a new screen will appear with a green icon and some options. NOTE: To work properly, you need to have DNS Proxy on as well. In 'Hostname (MX):' enter your mailer domain, under that put in your postmaster address. Finally, set your Maximum message size, then hit 'Save'. Next, go into the 'Incoming Mail' section and enter your domain that you want to relay email for and set its destination in the 'SMTP Host' field, then hit 'Add' to enter it. After you've entered all your domains, you'll need to add which networks are allowed to send mail out through the relay in the 'Outgoing Mail' section. Under that you can activate encryption and SMTP Authentication if you want them. Under that you can activate Sender address verification, which basically just checks to see if it's a valid address and if the domain exists. You can also add RBL lists. If you have a license for it you can activate Virus Scanning and you can also add a list of extension to reject, such as 'com' or 'exe' or 'vbs'. Hope this helps you a bit, it's the best I can offer until the manual arrives. Not sure when that'll be though.
Ok thank's, But my real problem is how to configure the Qmail files, mail server under Linux to use the SMTP proxy on Astaro. I think, I must do something with the smtproutes files under Qmail??
No, I'm fairly sure that as long as the Qmail server sits behind the Astaro firewall, you shouldn't need to do anything to it, unless you want to set it to use Astaro for outgoing mail, which you don't need to. If you did want to, you would just need to set Qmail so that the Astaro box is the 'upstream' SMTP server.
