Its connected to the UTM and shows up as active ap:

Did we try re-configuring the AP from the scratch and changing auto channel to manual ?

No, we did not.
Do you think this will resolve the firmware issue?
I personally don't have that feeling, but i may be wrong.

I would suggest to try once and let me know the status once done !

I deleted the Access Point, restarted it and added it again.

The firmware did not update.

Can you goto Management > Up2Date > Configurations > Pattern Download/Installation Interval > select Manual

go back to overview > See if the patterns are updated to the latest version, if not you'll see the difference and update the patterns manually, ref screenshot:

My patterns are slightly outdated:

I triggered an update. Still waiting for it to complete.

Interesting how long this takes. The device has a symm. 10g uplink and i am still not seeing any progress.
I noticed that the latest available pattern version changed 3 times already. at first it showed 222349, a few seconds later it was 222350 and now it shows 222351...

And now its 222353

I hooked the ap up to my serial port again and checked:
the firmware on the device is still the same:

Left is before the pattern update, right is after the pattern update (and a reboot of the ap to connect it via serial to my machine)

If i got this right it should be version 11.0.017, right?

Latest is 11.0.0.20

Okay, so we have two problems now:

1) Sophos utm has the latest patterns but NOT the latest firmware

2) The AP isnt getting updated with whatever version is on the UTM

How can we solve those Problems?

Hi newone  I'd suggest log a support service request, as not only patterns but your UTM is also up2date to 9.714-4
