[Implemented] Can we have visibility of the firmware release running on each AP

I had a situation where an AP failed to upgrade after 120 mins, it raised two points in my mind

1. I cannot tell what firmware a specific AP is running?

2. When I receive notification a firmware upgrade has failed it would be great to know if it subsequently upgraded successfully, as it was I had an alert and all I could do was clear it (maybe the alert should clear when the upgrade does happen). I have no idea if it eventually upgraded or not (it is functioning though)

  • Hi,

usually the firmware version for an AP should match the settings in your wireless section. I created CWIFI-3875 as some future use cases would require it.

Regarding the notification: we're currently working on this issue (tracked with CWIFI-3866) with high priority. Unfortunately they most likely weren't updated because of that. We will update you once we have a solution.

    kind regards,

    Dirk

  • We found the root cause of your update issue (CWIFI-3866) and found that it is already fixed with version 1.0.1 . To ensure that your access points get the right firmware, you need to trigger a configuration change. An easy way to do it is to assign a new network to them.

Please verify that in the global events reports, you see an event for a successful update for every one of them. Alternatively you can delete and-register them.

  • Hi Dirk, thanks. Went through that and I can see in the alert logs that all the AP's are now upgraded to 1.0.1
