Slow wifi when connected to the AP SSID

Hi Walter,

slow wifi can have multiple reasons. To rule out most of them, you could post performance numbers of another wireless device configured in the same way.

Some other things you could try:

• Are there many networks in that area? Then you could try using 5Ghz, since there are more channels available in this range.
• We are working on allowing a bigger channel width (https://community.sophos.com/sophoswireless/f/168/t/76672). A bigger channel width should give you more speed.

Hi Jonas,

I tested also with the 5GHz but I had the same results.

The computer I used was at around 1 meter from the access point.

There are some other networks around but no one on 5GHz.

Can you load https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.farproc.wifi.analyzer&hl=en and show how your spectrum looks like? 

Also, couple of other comments - In the client section do you see client connected on 5GHz.

we didn't release a new firmware last week. Depending on your firmware update settings, you might have received an older update last week.

How often did you run the speed test when you noticed the issue? Performance tests often require a so called "warm up" phase, so it is preferable to run them at least twice.

Today we deployed a new AP firmware version which also includes some performance improvements. Can you check again?

With the firmwares released over the last weeks we have achieved stable connection and good performance with multiple clients in long-running load tests. Please check whether the performance is good for you.
