Hi
Something seems not to work at me.
My environment:
So far, everything seems to look good for me - Now comes the mystery:
NIC of PC is configured: 172.16.16.15/24, no GW, no DNS. Other environemt notes for PC:
* No other connections are active
* Firewall is switched off
* Browser Firefox under WIndows 11
When I now try to connect to https://172.16.16.16:4444 as per Installation Guide for Firewall Home Edition, I only get a timeout. I cannot ping the ip - which can make sense, but don't know, how it should be - no idea, what is going wrong :-(
Thank you for any further help!
Hello!
The order of the ports might change when you migrate from a hardware installation to a software (home) install.
Most of the times it reverses the order, so Port1 that's marked on the Firewall is actually Port4.
And Port4 that's marked on the firewall is actually Port1 after the installation. (At the GUI/WebAdmin.)

Hmm, I see, that I really could connect to that port (port labeled on the appliance to be port 4, SFOS made it hardware Port 1): It took quite a long time to get up - but after some minutes I could connect to it
-> so main concern is solved, thank you!
But now, when I want to config the ports to be defined according the labeling on the appliance, I'm still stuck :-/
When I now want to make the hardware-port 4 (in operating system) to be LAN (labeled as port LAN on the appliance), It fails:
-> I gave it an own IP-range - the final one I want to use for LAN - defined it to be in Zone LAN as well and defined a DHCP-server to use this interface.
When i now connect my pc to that newly chosen port, it does not come up (no LEDs start to light up, pc does not show the interface to be connected: waited for 10 mins) :-(
-> What am I doing wrong?
Thank you for any hint! Kind regards

Addition to this post:
During the boot process, the interface is connected. but at some stage of the boot process of SFOS, the port I want to use is going back to dark... Can't say, what part of the boot process - only what I see on the screen:
before the screen with "System Details" appears, the NIC goes dark and connection is lost :-(
Sounds like you still got the wrong port - try to connect your PC to every other port. There will be one with immediate link - that’s the right one. You will see link in WebAdmin as well. And in System log.
