Disabling a Physical Port through a rule - i.e Disabling WAN Physical Port when internet goes down.

I am facing a very unique scenario where I simply want to disable the one ISP which in going in through Physical port in Firewall when that particular ISP goes down, don't want it as backup or primary, just want that port to turn itself off when ISP goes down. Disabling WAN Port when ISP goes down.

Hardware Details -  XGS87 (SFOS 20.0.0 GA-Build222), Any help in this regarding would be much appreciated.

  • Hi Shree,

Thank you for reaching out to Sophos Community.

Unfortunately, setting a firewall rule to disable the port upon WAN link status isn’t possible, or disabling the WAN Port when the ISP goes down isn't possible. You may turn off the physical interface manually in later firmware version
