is Sophos Central down? Me and some of my colleage can't login for at least 30 minutes from different szenarios.

the server does not respond to ping so this is normal.
I would check TLS Scanning and Webfilter Logs on your XG for central Requests. Are they really not blocked or using a default block* rule?
*=this appears as green +allowed in our logs but actually is blocked. Only visible by the Rule ID
It appears that central.sophos.com drops ICMP traffic (probably as a DDoS mitigation measure) -- the site still works here, despite ICMP being dropped.

I will add, though, that from our primary connection (in the US) I do see higher latency than usual on some hops on the way to AWS ... maybe you're seeing some sort of internet connectivity issue between your ISP and AWS (at least the AWS region that your Central account is in.
