wifi network unable to access internet

Hi,

I have a wireless network that I can connect to but unable to access the internet.

The xg has internet access and I can ping addresses on the internet from the xg.

I've created a wireless network called Wifi-A and added it to the Wifi zone (ssid is also named Wifi-A).

Created a new dhcp server inside the xg and attached it to the Wifi-A wireless network.

Added firewall:  allow wifi zone anyhost  to WAN zone anyhost.

The laptop used to connect does receive an IP address and the correct default gateway from the Wifi-A ssid.

  • Device is XG 106W - device connects to the built in wireless interface.

  • You mean the AP is the inbuilt one on the XG106W?

    Hi ,

Thank you for reaching out to Sophos Community.

What error message are you getting when you browse from a WiFi machine?

If you're using XG as a DNS server for Wifi-A network then please ensure that DNS service is turned on for WiFi zone(Administrator > Device access).

Also please verify that default SNAT is applied on the linked NAT rule.

  • Hi Yash,

The translated source snat had to be changed to MASQ before it would work.

Do you have a link that explains SNAT in detail?
