Issue with my SOPHOS XG FIREWALL

Hi to all Sophos specialists,

Good day.

I have a very weird issue with my firewall. On one busy day we experience an outage on all our ISP connection. But we checked our ISP MRTG and didn't find any issues on their end. There where no ISP connection alarms detected. Can anyone here in the forum give me an idea what is causing this sudden outage of internet connection and missing system graphs.

Below is the screenshot of the firewall logs and I didn't find any issues.

any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

  • Hello Rodney,

Thank you for contacting the Sophos Community!

Can you share a screenshot of the Diagnostics >> System Graphs >> Weekly

Also if you go to Configure >> Network >> WAN Link Manager >> IPv4 Gateway >> NAME of your Gateway >> Failover Rules, what IP is it pinging? if it is the ISP default gateway can you change to 8.8.8.8 or any other Public IP beyond your ISP router.  (I don't think this will be the issue, but would be good to check the DGD.log if the issue happens again).

    Regards,

  • Hi Emmanuel (EmmoSophos),

Here is the screenshot for the system graphs.

All my information in the system graph disappeared, I am not sure what happened. Suddenly all the ISP connection was lost, then all their system graphs disappeared same as below screenshot.

Below is the logs i got from firewall.

I am confused as what is causing this issue.

    Does anyone have any idea?

    Thanks

  • Hi emmosophos,

I also tried to ping google dns during the outage but it also got disconnected when all ISP went down. But when i checked with our Service Provider MRTG there was no outage on their side.

Below is the MRTG graph of one ISP.

Below are some screenshots of the system graph.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks
