Hi XG Community!
We've released SFOS v17.5.5 MR5 for the Sophos XG Firewall. Initially, the firmware will be available by manual download from your MySophos account. We then make the firmware available via auto-update to a number of customers, which will increase over time.
Please visit the following link for more information regarding the upgrade process: Sophos XG Firewall: How to upgrade the firmware.
APX 120 support for XG Firewall
The APX 120 is a new entry-level, 2x2 MIMO access point. It comes with dual-radio technology and supports 802.11ac Wave 2 for much improved performance over the equivalent AP Series models. With 17.5 MR5, you would be able to manage APX 120 from XG Firewall.
To manually install the upgrade, you can download the firmware from the MySophos portal. Please refer to Sophos XG Firewall: How to upgrade the firmware.
May I know how is service heartbeat related to access_server for authentication?
Got scared to be hit with DHCP problem. Took a heck of a while, but it seems to work now.
This update killed two of my three AP30's
Reflashed - one came back and is back 24 hours later, the other got an IP then two minutes later went inactive, won't renew it's IP and has stayed that way.
Been rock solid for about 3 years! This update borked them.
OK, touch wood, I think I may have resolved the issue.
First off, I did the steps here: community.sophos.com/.../ap-s-inactive-after-17-5-1mr3-and-ap-11-0-006-f-w-updates
Followed by the following command:
system dhcp conf-generation-method old
I restarted the DHCP server service and then reflashed the AP30 again.
Last time round, post-flashing, it only remained active for 2 minutes. We're up to 35 and counting. I'll update if anything changes.
I am very disappointed and revert back to SFOS 17.5.4 MR-4-1. Since when it was updated Authentication Services failed and not resolve on services restart. Authentication (SSO) issue only resolve on appliance reboot. Sophos team need to fix all bugs properly in SF 17.5 MR5.
I am very disappoint it and revert back to SFOS 17.5.4 MR-4-1, as Authentication services failed continuously. Even not resolve by restarting the service, authentication (SSO) issue resolve only after rebooting the appliance. Sophos team need to review and fixed the all bugs in it.
