This article shows how to upgrade the firmware of the Sophos Firewall device to the latest version. The following sections are covered:

With this method you manually upload an already downloaded copy of the firmware from your local computers hard drive to the Sophos Firewall.
Once Upload & Boot is clicked, the firewall performs the following actions:
You may click Upload Firmware instead of Upload & Boot if you want to upload now and reboot later.
To boot the device and use the uploaded firmware, go to Backup & Firmware > Firmware and click .
You do not need to download the firmware on your system before upgrading. You can check for new firmware versions and install them directly from the GUI.
Please keep in mind that each version is mantained in it's own partition of the device, so if you decide to revert to the previous firmware later you will find the old configuration (ie the configuration that was in place before the upgrade), configuration settings is not shared between the two partitions.
